Benannt wurde der Film nach seiner wohl populärsten Figur: dem Privatdetektiv Johnny Wadd, den Holmes ab dem gleichnamigen Streifen aus dem Jahr 1971 in zahllosen Filmen spielte – eine Art Porno-Krimiserie, die Sex mit einer Sam-Spade-ähnlichen Hauptfigur und einigen Actionszenen verband.
