Als der alte O. M. Rivers im Begriff ist, das Zeitliche zu segnen, müssen seine beiden Kinder Sonny und Bitsy feststellen, daß die Sache mit der Erbschaft einen derben Haken hat: nur derjenige kommt an die Kohle, der innerhalb von 12 Monaten auf traditionelle Weise - also Frau unten, Mann oben, - einen Enkel in die Welt setzt. Das Problem: Bitsy vernascht am liebsten propere Frauen, während Sonny mehr auf vollbärtige Männer steht. Und da ist auch zu allem Unglück noch Pater Kelly, der kirchliche Beistand des alten Rivers, der mit allen Tricks versucht, die Zeugung eines Enkels zu verhindern, um selbst in den Genuß der Millionenerbschaft zu kommen. Trotz allem macht sich Sonny auf, seine Männlichkeit auch gegenüber der süßen Frauenwelt unter Beweis zu stellen und Bitsy glaubt sich plötzlich zu erinnern, doch irgendwann einmal ein Kind zur Welt gebracht zu haben.
