Nachdem sich der Bug der Titanic in die TARDIS gerammt hat, beeilt sich der Doctor, den Schaden zu reparieren und sein Schiff auf der Titanic materialisieren zu lassen. Er stellt fest, dass er sich auf einem Luxus-Kreuzfahrt-Raumschiff befindet und beschließt, an einer dort stattfindenen Party teilzunehmen. Von der Kellnerin Astrid Peth erfährt er, dass es sich um ein Schiff vom Planeten Sto handelt, dass sich am aktuellen Weihnachtstag im Erdorbit aufhält. Doch als das Schiff durch einen Sabotageakt von einigen Meteoriten getroffen und schwer beschädigt wird, droht die Space-Titanic auf die Erde zu stürzen.
