Bootlegger/cafe owner, Johnny Franks recruits crude working man Scorpio to join his gang, masterminded by crooked criminal defense lawyer Newton. Scorpio eventually takes over Frank's operation, beats a rival gang, becomes wealthy, and dominates the city for several years until a secret group of six masked businessmen have him prosecuted and sent to the electric chair.

Die überlegene Strategie sowie die politisch-moralische Einheit erzwingen den Rückzug der Okkupanten. Witebsk, Bobruisk und Minsk werden befreit. Die Verschwörung gegen Hitler schlägt am 20. Juli 1944 fehl. Die beteiligten Offiziere werden in Berlin standrechtlich erschossen. In Waffenbrüderschaft mit polnischen Einheiten und Partisanen beginnt die Befreiung Polens.

Nachdem zwei gute Freunde aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zurück in ihre Heimat kommen, hat sich dort einiges geändert: aus der traditionellen Viehzucht im Stile der Cowboys wurde durch industrielle Massentierhaltung abgelöst, und damit müssen die beiden erst einmal klarkommen. Noch mehr zu schaffen macht den beiden aber, daß sie sich beide in die selbe Frau verliebt haben.
