The long, cold winter has just hit New England, and while the bluefin tuna season has come to an end in Gloucester, Mass., it’s just getting started in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After a disappointing season, several of Gloucester’s top fishermen head south to try to salvage their finances by fishing for the elusive bluefin tuna in unfamiliar Carolina waters before the experienced locals beat them to the catch. It’s a whole new battlefield and the Northern captains must conquer new styles of fishing, treacherous waters and the wrath of the Outer Banks’ top fishermen. They’re gambling on what could be a massive payday … or a huge financial loss.

French in Action is a French language course, developed by Professor Pierre Capretz of Yale University. The course includes workbooks, textbooks, and a 52-episode television series. The television series — the best-known aspect of the course — was produced in 1987 by WGBH, Yale University, and Wellesley College, and funded by Annenberg/CPB, and since then, has been aired frequently on PBS in the United States, developing a cult following for its romantic comedy segments interspersed among grammar lessons. In 2010, Yale University hosted a 25th anniversary reunion in celebration of the programme's success.

Foul-Ups, Bleeps & Blunders is the title of a comedy series that aired on ABC for two short seasons in the mid-1980s. The series is hosted by Steve Lawrence and Don Rickles. Produced as a response to NBC's TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes, this series similarly focused on outtakes from popular television programs and movies. The series also included a Candid Camera-like segment showing people caught in amusing situations by hidden cameras. The word blooper was not allowed to be uttered, with the term "foul-up" substituted where applicable. The series debuted on January 10, 1984 as a mid-season replacement series, and returned at the start of the 1984-85 season, however after October 1984 the show ceased to be a weekly offering on ABC and instead aired at various times as filler for the next few months before resuming weekly broadcast in the spring, after which it was cancelled. The most notable episode of Foul-Ups, Bleeps & Blunders featured guest star William Shatner introducing a set of bloopers taken from the original Star Trek. Shatner, in his introduction, stated that this was the first time these outtakes had ever been shown on network television.

In a house in the outskirts of Tokyo, there lives a family of eight. Such a large family is rare these days, however not one of them is related by blood. They all lost a loved one in the same holiday accident. Moved by Shogo's suggestion that they all move in together, they have gathered in this house. Each has their own issues and it makes for the start of a tumultuous home life. Tsuyoshi Domoto stars as the passionate yet sentimental lead, Shogo. Diametrically opposed in character and thinking is Tomohiko (Yusuke Santamaria). The story centres on these two as the butt heads at every turn, and the eight grow closer together as a family. This is a human drama full of heart and mixed with laughs and tears depicting a group of deeply wounded people beginning to believe in tomorrow and live life more positively.

Kan-chan ist ein echter Unglücksrabe. Er ist schlecht in der Schule, hat kein Glück bei den Mädchen und seine Eltern halten ihn für eine Katastrophe.
